Learn to Blog: Feb. 27 class
Alamo PC Learning Center
Sunday, February 27 2:00-4:30 p.m.
Syllabus
A blog is short for weB LOG, a combination of software tools and web hosting that allows anyone to keep and maintain an online journal without having to learn complicated computer or Web design skills.
2:00-2:30: We’ll get settled and look at some blogs to understand their scope and purpose.
2:30-3:00: Hands on! Everyone will log onto (blogger.com), set up their own free blog and make a couple of simple entries. We’ll experiment a little with customizing the look and functions of your blog.
3:00-3:30: We’ll visit each other’s blogs and make online comments, ask questions and have time to poke around the dashboard a little on our own. This would be a good time to take a break if you need one.
3:30-4:00: We’ll set up a photoblog on BuzzNet (www.buzznet.com), upload a couple of photos and use the “blog this!” feature to transfer them to our Blogspot blog.
4:00-4:15: We’ll log onto Audioblogger (www.audioblogger.com), set up an account and, time permitting, call in some audio blogs.
4:15-4:30: Wrap up, final questions and feedback on the class. The instructor will stay until 5:00 to make sure individual questions are answered.
